Ana Luísa Quinta-Gomes

Ana Luísa Quinta-Gomes, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences at the University of Porto (FPCEUP) in Portugal and a researcher at the Centre for Psychology of the University of Porto (CPUP). She is the Director of the Master in Sexology at FPCEUP, the vice-coordinator of the Sexuality and Gender Research Group, the executive director of the Research Laboratory on Human Sexuality (SexLab), and interim member of the Executive Board of the Centre for Psychology at the University of Porto. Ana Quinta-Gomes is also a faculty member of the Doctoral Programme in Human Sexuality at the University of Porto and the coordinator of the Education and Oncosexology Committees of the Portuguese Society of Clinical Sexology. As a researcher, she has been conducting fundamental and applied research in human sexuality, particularly on transdiagnostic processes, psychological vulnerability factors for sexual dysfunction, and determinants of sexual health in patients with cancer and chronic diseases. She has international work and research experience and a strong track record in conducting and coordinating research projects funded by the European Commission (e.g., Horizon) and by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), aimed at the development and implementation of evidence-based psychological interventions (conventional and digital) to improve mental health and well-being, and in promoting sexual health in vulnerable populations [e.g., CBT-Mindfulness randomized clinical trial for prostate cancer survivors (E-mergir); CBT-Mindfulness randomized clinical trials for colorectal cancer survivors, older adults, and people with chronic diseases (Anathema); a CBT-Mindfulness RCT for individuals with sexual dysfunction (Fullsense); and a gender transformative RCT program for adolescents (SfSGBV)]. Ana Quinta-Gomes is the principal supervisor of several master's and Ph.D. students and supervises the research and clinical activities of national and international students and research/clinical teams (e.g., MSCA-Postdoctoral Fellowships). Ana Quinta-Gomes is a qualified Clinical Psychology, Psychotherapy, and Sexology specialist by the Portuguese Board of Psychologists and a certified Sex Therapist by the Portuguese Society of Clinical Sexology. She is the coordinator and a specialized clinical psychologist/sex therapist of the Sexual Health Clinic at the University of Porto.
